Firefox Search Tip

Here’s a small Firefox tip that will save you some time.
Let’s say you want to search YouTube for “honda accord ad”. Try this:

1) Go to Youtube

2) Right click in the search text box on the main page and select ‘Add a Keyword for this Search’

3) Give a Name (’YouTube’) and Keyword (’yt’), without quotes, and click the ‘Add’ button

4) To use the new search keyword, type ‘yt honda accord ad’ without quotes in your address bar.

There you go - and this works for almost every search you’d probably want.

Virtual Aurality - Holophonic Sound

If you have a pair of headphones nearby, waste no time - give this page a visit and marvel at the amazing realism of the sound clips on that page.

The audio files were recorded using a dummy head with two microphones situated where the ears should be. The resulting recording is so real, if you close your eyes while listening to the Virtual Haircut clip, you actually get goosebumps by the realism (wait for the electric clipper to get near your ear). Awesome!

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn’t seem to be breathing, and his eyes are rolled back in his head.

The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps to the operator: “My friend is dead! What do I do?”

The operator, in a calm, soothing voice, says: “Just take it easy. I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.”

There is a silence, then a shot is heard. The guy’s voice comes back on the line. He says: “Okay, now what?”
